The big deal
around here is that
Cade can finally swim. My gosh, he is 4 1/2 so he should be able to swim by now, right? It is almost
embarrassing that
Cade wasn't swimming yet since I was a lifeguard all those summers and taught swimming lessons to much younger children than
Cade. Well,
Cade is a very cautious child and you have to just MAKE him do things that are out of his comfort zone. That is the only way he will try new things. He likes to do things he is good at so he didn't mind sporting water wings again this summer. So, about a month ago I knew all I needed to do was work with him alone. Sure enough in a matter of minutes the boy who didn't like to go under was swimming. Each day he has gotten better. It is so nice to see him swim under the water because he was getting ready to break the world record for fastest
doggie paddle. The boy can dive for rings now, jump off the diving board and get thrown "super high" by his daddy.
