Homecoming.

Clayton High School had its Homecoming festivities last weekend and Cade got the special honor of being "the little boy who carries the flowers for the new queen" (I don't know the official title). When I asked Cade if he'd like to do it he was excited about getting a suit, of course. I wondered if he would be nervous about being in the parade and being in front of all those people Friday night at the football game but, he wasn't. Thursday before the parade he said, "What if I get too shy, Mama?" I told him, "Cade all you have to do is smile and throw candy." He said, "I don't have to wave?" I said, "No, but, I want you to wave if someone waves at you." I told him it would be alot of fun. He did great! He loved throwing out the candy and seeing some familiar faces along the parade route. He was very proud of himself. He also did great Friday night in front of all those people. He did ask, "What if the "grape juice girl" is there? Will she think I am handsome?" I said, "You better believe she would!" Cannon and Sam were so excited about seeing Cade out there. The were yelling his name and waving. Cade could hear them and quickly cut his eyes at them and put his finger over his lips. If he were closer he would have said "Be quiet. You are embarrassing me!" Cade looked mighty handsome and did a great job following all the directions. When it was over Cannon ran full speed towards Cade with an open arm embrace only to receive a subtle stiff arm pushing him away. In Cade's opinion, being in front of hundreds of people is not the place to get a hug from your little brother. If Cade only knew how much that little boy adores him.
