Frosty.

Frosty is the lady in Connecticut who graciously shared her home with us. All five of us. I was apprehensive at first because I thought she would surely kick us out in two days tops. A single lady now sharing her home with a family of five doesn't sound like a scenario that would work. But, it did. We miss her. Meeting her was truly a blessing to us all. I am thankful to know this generous, fun, free-spirited, kind lady. She is one of those people you will never forget. She is one of those people I learned a lot from in the short time I was around her. She is one of those people I could stand to be a little more like.

This poem was on her refrigerator and I loved it when I read it. It reminds me to keep things in perspective and to look at the "big picture".

If I Had My Children to Raise Over Again

If I had my children to raise over again,
I'd build self-esteem first, and the house later.
I'd finger paint more, and point the finger less.
I would do less correcting and more connecting.
I'd take my eyes off my watch, and watch with my eyes.
I would care to know less and know to care more.
I'd take more hikes and fly more kites.
I'd stop playing serious, and seriously play.
I would run through more fields and gaze at more stars.
I'd do more hugging and less tugging.
I'd see the oak tree in the acorn more often.
I would be firm less often and affirm much more.
I'd model less about the love of power, and more about the power of love.
