snakes.

My mama, Lord have mercy, has a fear of snakes that is apparently hereditary. Thank goodness my sisters and I didn't inherit this phobia (though Angela does have a ridiculous fear of birds). No, I don't like snakes but, I also don't have a snake phobia like all the women on my mom's side of the family. Well, my mama had come a long way from being the mama who threatened to ground you if you showed her a picture of a snake out of the encyclopedia. (Angela really did get grounded one time for such an act.) Now, her grandsons are aware of the fear and find much delight in pulling out the plastic snakes when she is over. On this particular night she was taking the boys to a play. They were all dressed for their date and were walking out the door when Cannon said, "Wait Nana! Hold on."  So, she knew what was coming and sat down. He ran upstairs and grabbed the snakes as fast as he could. They then put them all over her. I don't think the boys understand that had we done that as children (or adults for that matter) she would have been crying and we would have gotten a spanking and been grounded. Mama, you really have come a long way. Thank goodness. With five grandsons, I guess she figured she'd better.
