hanging on.

How loose can a tooth get? Do you see this thing. It is twisted and sticking out onto his lip. Somehow it is still attached. I don't get it. He won't let us mess with it. I don't want to mess with it. I hate trying to pull teeth. Just pull it Cade just pull it!

attention getter.

The other night we went to kids night at Pizza Inn. There is always a clown there, BB the clown. Well, we were eating and BB walks up to our table and asks if they want anything made from balloons. This surprised us because this isn't the usual procedure for BB. You usually have to wait in line at his station to get a balloon or your face painted. Landry immediately asked for a pig. He quickly makes his standard animal with a pink balloon and calls it a pig. He hands it to her and she is happy. Cannon says he wants a gun. A black gun that is. BB makes the gun and Cannon is happy. He asks Cade and Cade says, "I don't want anything." BB says, "You don't?" I said, "Cade you just say no thank you." So Cade said, "No thanks. I don't want anything." So BB says, "Well then, I'll just make something for you . I'll surprise you." Cade had a look of complete panic as BB whipped out 3 balloons and began making this large contraption. I was laughing at the irony of this. You see Cade simply didn't want the big, loud clown standing at our table drawing attention to him with all those other kids around. He didn't want anything because he wanted the clown to leave our table and move on to someone else. Cade usually chooses an animal or gun when he goes up to BB's station but not tonight with BB standing at our table. So, as BB was finishing up I am trying to be chipper without laughing out loud because I could see Cade wanted to crawl under the table. We were all guessing what it could be especially after the clown had to go so far as to measure Cade's head with the first balloon. So the final product was the biggest balloon contraption in the restaurant. The perfect thing for the shy kid. A fishing pole hat with the fish attached. Perfect. Nothing draws attention to you quite like a big freakin' fishing pole on your head with the caught fish flapping around in front of you. I was not able to control my laughter when he put it in Cade's head only to be quickly removed by Cade. I thanked the clown and off he went. How ironic. Cade attempted to leave without his new headgear. Needless to say, he didn't wear it out of the restaurant but he didn't mind putting it on at home. Cade said, "I will never say I don't want anything again to that clown. Never. I will always say something I want from now on."

rise and shine.

It is so sweet seeing this little angel wake up. Every morning it is the same thing. As soon as those eyes open she immediately begins smiling. Big smiles. The kind with teeth showing. It is refreshing. I am so thankful for my little girl.

Just as sweet as that smile is the sweet prayer she says before bed and well, also before supper when it is her turn to pray. Here it goes:

God, thank you for everything. Thank you for road runners and doggies and pigs. Thank you for everything except the bad guys and love songs. Amen.

You see, the animals listed in her prayer are her, Cade and Cannon's favorite animals. So, you have to thank God for them. I get why she says "except the bad guys" but, she obviously has heard too many times from her brothers how they "hate love songs"  or "turn the radio, a love song is on".  The other day she was riding a battery powered 4-wheeler that was not fully charged which meant that she wasn't going as fast as she'd like. She said, "Mama, this thing is going as slow as a love song!"

cade.

Cade simply having fun on the beach. Jumping high and showing how much "air" he can get. It makes me happy looking at his smile. I love this top tooth missing, picture drawing, pizza crushing, Michael Jackson fan.

These three are the very tippy top of my list of favorite things.

pretending.

This is what I just overheard as Cannon and Landry are sitting together on the couch eating popcorn. They are pretending to be mama and daddy with one of her baby dolls between them.

LuLu:   She (baby doll) can't eat popcorn. She might choke.
C-Dub: If she choked she would be dead.
LuLu:   Well she choked one time.
C-Dub: Oh.
LuLu:   She loves bananas but, I always have to cut them up for her with a knife and put  them in a bowl.
C-Dub: Well, you can feed her while I am gone. I have a baseball game to go to in a minute.

Hmmmm. Where on earth do they come up with these things?

four years ago.

Four years ago. Now the two youngest in this picture are going to be starting kindergarten and the oldest one is going into second grade. I remember this day. I was pregnant with Landry and Angela was pregnant with Jack. It is hard to believe how little Sam and Cannon were when Jack and Landry were born. Seems like yesterday...
