All By Myself.

Cannon is at the fun age of almost 2 1/2 and wants to do things all by himself. He has been attempting his shoes alone for a while which usually, I mean often, results in them being on the wrong feet or with the thong of his flip flips between the wrong toes (uncomfortable you would think). So now he wants to put on his clothes all by himself but, the problem is he can't. You will hear him screaming in frustration as he has put both legs through the same leg hole or he has put an arm through the head hole of a shirt while he has his head in it also (this one completely does him in). No matter how frustrated he gets he will not accept help. He can be stubborn as a mule! He will be screaming and yelling and I will say "Cannon, can I help you?" only for him to say "No, I can do it myself." Finally when he can take no more he accepts help. Sometimes he does get it right (sort of). I mean he actually gets dressed without one scream. The he walks in and I see that he has his shorts on backwards with the zipper on his bottom and his shirt is usually inside out and backwards. This unconventional look doesn't bother Cannon. When we try to turn his shorts the right way or fix his shirt he says he wants to leave it the way he has it. Some days I do! I choose my battles. One day when we got to the pool someone said, "Do you know his swimsuit is on backwards (which was obvious due to the fact that the ties were in the back)?". I said, "Yes, I know. It's okay." Truth is, I really didn't even care that day. So what, his shorts were on backwards and chances are good (very good) that his crocs were on the wrong feet too. Hey, that's Cannon.
